Sous Chef Description – Sedona Winds

JOB TITLE: Sous Chef
SUPERVISOR: Executive Chef

BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION:

Responsible for food preparation and presentation in accordance with appropriate health department regulations and Sedona Winds policies, procedures and menus. Assist in managing the food ordering, delivery, stock and inventory.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Variety of tasks, culinary as well as management
  • Five years cooking experience, minimum
  • One-year management experience, minimum
  • Ability to properly train auxiliary staff for best results in minimum time
  • Ability to maintain order and discipline in kitchen during working hours
  • Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Work with the Executive Chef to create menus and dishes according to the company’s vision.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes

JOB SETTING:

  • Clean kitchen
  • Golden Plate awarded by Health Department
  • Staff work together
  • Kitchen closes at 6pm Monday – Saturday and 3pm on Sundays

SCHEDULE:

  • Weekends required
  • Holidays required
  • Day shift
  • Night shift – Kitchen closes at 6pm
  • 8-hour shift and/or 10-hour shift

PAY FREQUENCY:

  • Chef will schedule, this is a salary position equal to $17 to $18 dollars per hour.
  • Biweekly or Twice monthly

  • Bonuses end of year
